History of lsd.
LSD was first discovered in 1938 by Albert Hofmann accidentally when he was trying to find a blood stimulant. However it's side effects were unknown about until 1943 when Hofmann consumed some. Due to its similarity to a chemical in the brain it was used in psychological experiments from the 1940s up until the 1960s.it was popularized by a psychologist, Timothy Leary in the 1960s. Leary encouraged students to turn on tune in and drop out creating a counterculture of drug abuse spreading from America to the U.K. and the rest of Europe. During this period of abuse, The western intelligence and military personnel saw it as a possible chemical weapon. Researchers had said LSD had the ability to "render whole groups of people, including military forces, indifferent to their surroundings and situations, interfering with planning and even creating apprehension, uncontrollable confusion and terror. LSD was officially banned in the 1980s but picked up again in the 1990. Use once again dropped significantly in 2000.
